Flickr Display Random Image

THIS APP WILL ONLY WORK WITH PUBLIC GROUPS THAT DO NOT HIDE THE POOL FROM NON MEMBERS

You must leave the link back to my page intact or include the link back to my page at least once for any custom code you make yourself using RandomPic so others can find it. If the RandomPic code is used without a link back your group may be banned from using it.

This little app will let you put a code on your group front page, or discussion, or even photo comments, which will display a different picture(s) from your group pool every time the page is visited/ refreshed. The pictures all link back to their photopages.

If you enter a Tag, then the pictures will be limited to ones that have that tag

For example, you could use it to display the pictures the group admin thinks are especially good. Just add a tag such as AdminsBestPic to the pictures you think are especially noteworthy, then use the same tag here to generate the code.

The image will cycle at the time in seconds that you enter . You can modify the text of the code to suit your own use, but please leave the link to my page intact so others can find it.

  • To use it you will need to enter the GROUP URL (as it appears in the browser address bar when viewing the front page)
  • The tag you are going to use to identify the pictures to display (leave empty for random pics)
  • Picture cycle time (10 to 600 seconds).
  • Size of image you want (thumb/square/small/ medium). The badge codes will always be square.
  • *NEW* You can now use more than one code per page. Eg random pics (no tag given) AND 'The Best Of ' using a tag to mark them.
  • *NEW* Also generates code for JUST the picture so you can make your own codes with multiple pictures.
  • *NEW* Now creates a Badge or Banner code with the rows and columns you enter
  • *NEW* Creates a "Best In Group" code if you give a tag, otherwise "Random Photo" code.

Then just hit 'Get Code' and you will be given the codes to paste into your group description page, discussion or YOUR photo comment.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS AS A GROUP AWARD CODE

I may look into the possibility of creating a group INVITE code using this concept. But please do not attemp it using this app. If you are interested in an invite code then please contact me via flickr mail

One group using an award code image on my server generates 50,000 hits a month, if 100 groups used it that would be 5,000,000 hits on my server per month!

I cannot afford the hosting bandwidth to offer this facility. You are welcome to include it in your own photo comments (one copy per photo) but if I find it being used as an award code of any description I WILL BLOCK THE GROUP USING IT PERMANENTLY
